Can i paint any picture i see on the internet?

or any scene that i see in a video? what if i see a picture of a person, can i paint that no matter who it is? not copying it exactly but you know. would it be illegal to sell it or something? thanks.
Also I don’t mean famous photos or even professional photos, and I don’t mean copying every detail/colour or painting in a completely photorealistic manner.

Yes you can as long as you paint it in your own style. Obviously you can’t copy a painting exactly but you can copy it in your own style.

If it is copyrighted then no, they are then at liberty to sue u but aslog as it’s not famous or you make it famous you can cause it propably won’t have a copyright

What we can and cannot do without getting sued is kind of a funny thing. You can write anything you want about anybody, but images can be copyrighted. Think of it like this: When you look at a photograph, you are looking at someone’s art. Not just the photo itself, but the concept, angle, and other whathaveyous involved. So, short answer: no you cannot. REAL answer: would anybody know or give a shit?

Its still plagiarism. What if say you drawed Mickey mouse and painted him all blue. Is this plagarism? Yes. Why? Because we know all about Mickey and who invented him. If you are going to copy other art, photos’, etc. it would be best to get the other parties permission. This will save you grief later—maybe being sued. Even someone or somthing not famous, if say you did something of them, it was a hit and sold a lot of copies, they recognized it later, would you be sued or lible—yes you would. Its always best to protec yourself legally.
