What really pisses me off is when people label other people…
I’ll be honest I do it to sometimes but why not keep it to yourself? People are always calling me emo… I don’t cut and I don’t cry like a little pussy… BTW I have nothing against emo’s…
And to answer all you stupid people who say "I bet that picture isn’t even you!" That is a picture of me… Don’t believe me? Check meh myspace

I understand your frustration. Honestly, I think it’s in human nature to create categories to organize types of people into. Even if you never label someone out loud, you have definitely done it before in your head (could be as simple as thinking someone was rude….you’re labeling them as rude). I believe it occurs because things are easier to explain when you have popular idealized labels to use—if someone said another person was a "prep" then another person would automatically understand a basic idea of what the person being described was physically like. Sadly, some people who use labels use them to hurt or insult another person. They most likely do this in order to feel better about themselves—boosts their ego to make fun of another person.
what else can you do but label people.. everyone is something and that’s what they are.

You just said in your post "I don’t cut and I don’t cry like a little —–" You yourself just labeled others, and I’d call that something you have against Emo if thats the label you’re using.
The main reason is, people don’t understand others’ reasoning or way of life, and we tend to fear what we don’t know. So fear due to lack of understanding.

YOU JUST STEREOTYPED
"I’ll be honest I do it to sometimes"
exactly everyone does…..
some people like to say what is on their mind…which is sometimes a bad thing and sometimes a good thing…..
its just a human thing
anybody that says that they don’t label
is a liar
they may not say it aloud
but they still do it
but who cares if they call you emo…..anybody in this section can tell you that there are far worse things that you can be called…and trust me WE KNOW
P.S.
your cute =DDD

Well..some people will always make assumptions to others without knowing them. That’s how this world is….You either ignore or deal with them.

Labeling other people is just a part of getting to know someone. Maybe someone else’s definition of "emo" isn’t your definition. Honestly, when i think of an emo guy, I think of a guy with long black hair, who is usually bi, nice, but sometimes shy. Labeling is just the way our brains work.
Judging, though, is a different story. That’s taking those labels that you’ve made in your brain and not treating a person like you would anybody else because of your thoughts on that person.
My goodness, I wish Minnesota were closer to Utah…
You are gorgeous… and I LOVE Ludo! haha

Why do you insist on labeling people as being people labelers?
Edit: By saying that people label others, you are essentially labeling them as labelers.

Terrin – There’s no escape from labelling people. Any discription of someone is a label. Every word you use is a label. The problem is when people label others with evil intent, thus twisting the meaning of the label.
Also, getting mad if someone calls you emo because of the way you look is like a fat guy getting mad if someone calls him fat. If you look the part, people are going to discribe you as that. As long as their not meaning it a hurtful way it shouldn’t be a big deal.
Now if someone calling you emo means it as they think your a little pu*ssy, then thats something to be mad about. With that said though, looking like an emo dude is a trade off. You do it to attract girls who are into emo looking guys. Problem is, many emo looking guys are very girly and frail, so your gonna have to accept the reality that some people are gonna think your the same as them on sheer appearance.
Thats why it’s best to have your own image that discribes you for who you are. Not take on someone elses created image because once you decide to look like them, like looking "scene", then you also take on all pre- thoughts people have about them.

Well I like the hair cut…. very cute.
I think people label because they want to belong. For example, I’m a very tall black female who is a bisexualist and 6w5 wing.
I know, there’s a lot of labels there, but I own it, and love me the way I am…. People tend to hate labels when they are not proud of who they are. IMHO

to put it plainly…because labeling makes everything easier (not necessarily right or ok) just easier
