There is a speck on a picture and Blitzer is suggesting it is the kid in the basket falling to the ground. First, why would there be only a picture and not footage? Seems like a lucky picture.
Fact checking used to be part of journalism. Is it a fact that this is a basket falling? No, so he should not have gone with it.
I believe it is the lowering of journalistic standards. Plus you have the 24 hour news channels. Then, you throw in news as entertainment and not informative.

News personalities ask questions all the time that don’t get amazing, interesting answers and it didn’t sound like this Tom guy was even a part of the news crew, he was associated with the search for this kid.
